Centrifugal Clutch Shoe

What's

       This?

It's a centrifugal clutch shoe from an Arctic Cat ATV transmission.  Working in a bath of fresh Arctic Cat oil, it engages and shifts the transmission every time it's asked.

But if the oil isn’t changed regularly or is replaced with automotive oil, you’re asking for trouble.  Auto oils contain friction modifiers, which are fancy words for “stuff-that-makes-it-slippery.”  Slippery stuff is important for car engines, but bad for transmissions.

An ATV engine and transmission share the same oil.  If it’s oil or contains friction modifiers, the result can be clutch slippage and improper engagement.  That means reduced performance and machine life.

Give your Arctic Cat the only oil designed and tested specifically for it.  Arctic Cat ACX Synthetic.  And enjoy the performance, longevity and peace of mind that comes with it.
